Its initial focus was on increasing broadband penetration in the UK, before leading a collaborative UK response to the European Commission's Audio-Visual Media Services Directive.〔http://www.broadbanduk.org/component/option,com_docman/task,doc_view/gid,928/〕 Since late 2006, its primary focus has been the next generation broadband debate in the UK.
